I Want One…
I haven’t had much time to post anything of substance recently. Kudos to my bros for keeping things hopping. I just wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to two great new study tools that are coming on the scene.
The first is the Reader’s Hebrew Bible. This guy is a must have for that special someone in your life that reads Hebrew…hint. It includes the complete Hebrew and Aramaic Text of the Old Testament (sans textual apparatus) at the top of the page. Every word that appears less than 100 times in the OT is defined for you at the bottom of the page. As long as you have a decent working knowledge of Hebrew Vocabulary, you can read the OT without having to consult a lexicon.
The second, and perhaps the most pertinent to most of you, is the ESV Study Bible. Normally I am not too excited about a particular version’s study Bible, but this one promises to deliver in a big way. It is receiving some good praise. And the general editor is Wayne Grudem, one of my favorite people. I encourage you to spend a few minutes browsing the website. It appears that this study Bible will be a genuine help to believer’s in studying God’s Word.

I want one too. The ESV study Bible, that is. As of yet, I haven’t tackled the Hebrew language, and with med school on the near horizon, I doubt it will happen anytime soon (or ever, let’s be honest).
I wish it was coming out before May 10th. Then, I would get Karen one for her birthday. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
I don’t know how much power the phrase “I can’t wait” holds, but in regards to the ESV Study Bible, I mean that in every sense of those words.
I completely understand, Jigs. It going to be a real help in studying. I have several study Bibles, but none of them is in my favorite translation.
